Happy New Year
A new year brings some changes, also for www.mortification.de. Maybe some of you may have noticed that the updates to this homepage have become less frequent. The reason is that I'm very busy at the moment and I don't see a near end. So I'm out of time adding stuff to this homepage.
But at least I think that this should change and that's why I need someone for the english part of mortification.de. I've developed an easy-to-use Content Managment System for this homepage so you don't have to bring any html or php knowledge. All you should have is passion for mortification and a good englisch knowlegde, I'd prefer someone with english as mother tongue. If you think you could do this job please introduce yourself to us through the contact page. As this is a fanpage it is not possible to pay anyone for this work.
If you want to get further informations just apply.
I've also taken down the shop on this page because it's just to much for me to do. I've still some items left but I can only sell those from private. If you are interested just contact me within January.

Late October Update
OCTOBER 2007
Hello all and welcome to the very late October update from myself in Morty-land. Everything is finalised and going ahead for our European Tour. We are really looking forward to playing once again for our supporters in Switzerland, Germany, Holland and Norway. We left Australia on October 30th and began the tour on November 2nd in Bern. Please see last month's update for all the details relating to the shows. We hope to see all our European fans come out once again and hopefully a few American fans at Nordic Fest.
We have the most KILLER merchandise for the tour put together for us by the mighty Nuclear Blast, so you know the quality is going to be top notch! At each show we will have full-color tour long-sleeves with sleeve prints, full-color t-shirts, jacket patches, buttons, stickers and posters. It will be a feast for all you collectors out there! There will be a very special offer for people who purchase both a long-sleeve and a t-shirt.
Please note that there will not be a November Update due to the tour commitments, but be sure to visit us here in December for the low-down on all the tour news. Thank you to our Aussie fans who came out and supported us at the Black Stump festival and also The Pelly Bar show down here in suburban Melbourne. A great time was had by all. A special thank you to Grave Forsaken, Scourged Flesh and Fearscape for a great show in Frankston. Also a huge thank you to Matt Brown from Fearscape for organising the Black Stump Metal/Hardcore night.
Check out all the following killer new Aussie metal releases: "Scent of Divine Blood" by Fearscape, "Horror and Sadness" by Grave Forsaken, "Bury the Lies" by Scourged Flesh, the Horde "Alive in Oslo" DVD and Jayson Sherlock's progressive rock project Soundscape. Great to see all the Aussie bands kicking hard! May we all unite in the cause for which we stand!
See you on tour or back here in December. Please note, I will not be answering emails from October 29th through to November 19th.
Metal blessings,
Steve Rowe.

The new CD's are ready...
The re-issue of '91s self-titled album is a ripper too! Remastered, it is a special limited edition digipak release (1000 copies) with killer artwork. The front cover is faithfully restored from the original "gory" artwork by Jayson Sherlock. So do yourself and your neighbours a favour and jump into the Soundmass.com store to pick up "Live Humanitarian" and the self-titled by Mortification (pictured in the June update below), as well as both the Grave Forsaken and Scourged Flesh CDs (at new special prices). Special thanks to all the people who pre-ordered - your orders are on their way to your hungry ears. The "Live Humanitarian" DVD is not too far away either - stay tuned for further news in coming updates.
On a lower note, the US section of our proposed Tour has been postponed at this stage due to time restraints in securing Performance Visas. We hope to be back in the US as soon as it becomes feasable. All good things come to those that wait. The European Tour is 100% going ahead with these 7 shows:
Nov 2 - Bern, Switzerland
Nov 3 - Zurich, Switzerland
Nov 4 - Eschwege, Germany
Nov 7 - Bielefeld, Germany
Nov 8 - Amsterdam, Holland
Nov 9 - Oslo, Norway
Nov 10 - Stuttgart, Germany
We hope to catch up with all our European fans in these countries and from beyond. Keep watching this space for venue and time details.
Blessings,
Steve Rowe.

Pre-orders and some sad news
"Live Humanitarian" features songs not on "Live Planetarium". The classic era was well covered on "Live Planetarium". When playing live on the US and European Tour later this year we will be bringing more of the classic era than is featured on the "Live Humanitarian" CD and DVD. Here is the the full concert track list:
1- Erasing The Goblin
2- I'm Not Your Commodity
3- Hammer Of God
4- Purest Intent
5- Medley: Lymphosarcoma/The Destroyer Beholds/Distarnish Priest/Love Song
6- Priests Of The Underground
7- The Dead Shall Be Judged
8- Spoken Word Part 1
9- Humanitarian
10- Spoken Word Part 2
11- Dead Man Walking
12- Standing At The Door Of Death
13- Spoken Word Part 3
14- Escape The Blasphemous Tabernacle
15- Spoken Word Part 4
16- Chapel Of Hope
Please pray for us as we prepare for the US and European Tours in October/November. We need to secure P1 Performance Visas for the US. These are very difficult to obtain. Thankfully my US attorney who got my P1 Visas in the 90's has taken on the challenge to secure these for me once again. The cost for this type of visa is huge and there is a lot of legal ground for us to cover in the next 3 months.
People interested in booking shows for Mortification in the US can contact Doug Kirchner at End Of Silence Booking Agency:

On a sad note, original Lightforce guitarist Chris Miller, who was in Lightforce in '86 through early '87, died suddenly of a heart attack 3 weeks ago. Chris played on the '86 Lightforce demos. I saw Chris just a month ago at a Christian rock concert. He was full of smiles as always, talking about Jesus, church and Christian rock. We were at a Barlow Girl concert (Barlow Girl are a US all-female, all-sisters true Jesus rock band). Chris was really into evangelistic Jesus rock and we both shared a passion for souls.
Chris, like myself, was writing Christian literature and recording Christian music. Chris and I grew up in the same neighbourhood and his sudden promotion to glory happened on a road I walked and ran up almost daily in my first 24 years of life. Chris was the youngest and healthiest looking 41 year old you could ever meet. None of us know our time. Here is me still alive after being given 2 hours to live exactly 10 years ago. God's work for Chris was done and now he is home forever. May we all stop and consider where our heart is with God.
See you on Tour and in Heaven.
Blessings,
Steve Rowe.

May update
As it stands today, it looks quite definite that we will tour in the US and Europe in October and November. However, nothing is 100% just yet. Keep watching our website each month for updates. Tour costs may push the release of "Live Humanitarian" into early next year. This is why we are presenting the special half price offer on the re-issue DVD. For those who supported "Live Planetarium" at full price, we thank you. This may be your chance to pick up a second copy to give away as a gift.
"The Majestic Infiltration of Order" t-shirt is now available from the Soundmass.com store. Be quick to grab one because we have a very limited pressing at this stage. I have had a number of e-mails from people eager to snatch up one or two. At this point, the re-issues of the '91 classic shirts will stop until we get into next year because, again, we have potential tour costs in mind. So please support us the best way you can by purchasing a t-shirt and half price "Live Planetarium" DVD today.
The Soundmass digipak re-issue of the '91 self-titled album has now been put forward to early July. However, their re-print of the classic "gory" cover Mortification t-shirt is now available at the Soundmass.com store.
Also, check out the Rowe Productions website in the coming week for our updated Photo Gallery, with pictures from the "Live Humanitarian" recording late last year.
Metal blessings,
Steve Rowe.

New Material and Live Humanitarian European Tour
I have been busy organising the "Live Humanitarian European Tour" for later in the year. Hopefully this will happen for us. I am in communication with promoters, merchandise people, a flight arrangement company, etc. I will give you more information as it comes to hand but - yes - the tour will be the current solid line-up of Mick Jelinic, Damien Percy and myself.
Please pick up "Erasing The Goblin", "The Destroyer Beholds" and "The Lake Of Fire" t-shirts from the Soundmass.com store. "The Majestic Infiltration Of Order" re-issue t-shirt will be available next month.
For those who pray for us, please pray that the Euro tour comes together well. There are huge costs and arrangements involved. Continue to pray for my health, especially my fading eyesight, spiritual unity in the band to keep getting stronger, and wisdom concerning all the difficult financial stuff.
Blessings,
Steve Rowe.

New DVD on the way, and a change to get some rare vinyl
The self-titled album re-issue will be available from Soundmass.com soon. "The Lake Of Fire For The Dying Soul" re-issue shirt from 1991 is available now from the Soundmass.com store. Thank you to the keen supporters who bought "The Destroyer Beholds" shirt. I am planning to re-issue all of them if the interest stays strong.
I pray that you are all very healthy and praise God that this past Saturday was my 10th Anniversary out of bone marrow transplant for leukaemia. 10 years and one month ago I was given a maximum of 10 years to live. I still struggle with health issue but we plan to do some more touring this year if all things go to plan. So it is great to be alive and still working with the music and message that is so strong in my heart. I will be around for many years to come making metal for Jesus. It will be great to arrive at 25 Years Mortification in 2015.
Metal Blessings,
Steve Rowe.
P.S. I have just been given a pile of rare vinyl Christian metal and rock releases from the 70's and 80's. An old friend of mine involved in Christian missions gave them to me to sell as a fund raiser. He and his family are going to Thailand this year for a 9 month missions trip. Through his church, he also supports much needed Christian missionary work. All money coming to Rowe Productions from the sale of these records will be going directly to Christian missions work. Included in the records, which are all mint condition, is the Barren Cross "Rock For The King" original Star Song pressing, the very first 1976 Jerusalem album (extremly rare), Resurrection Band "Rainbow's End" (with a magnificent double cover) and a gatefold of Ressurection Band "Mommy Don't Love Daddy Anymore", plus many more. These will be in the Soundmass.com store within the next few days. I already own all these releases from back in the day so can offer them to you guys. Prices are high but not over the top considering how great these records are and the cause for which the money is being raised. Thanks again for your support.

Mortification Christmas update
Congratulations to Paramaecium and Horde on their successful trip to Norway for Nordic Fest. 2007 looks like a stellar year for Aussie Christian Metal. Mortification have a big surprise announcement coming soon which will make many of you very excited. So stay tuned, stay Jesus Metal and go to the store and purchase yourself a "The Destroyer Beholds" t-shirt!
Blessings, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Steve Rowe.

New Mortification Forum
The new official Mortification Forum can now be found at unDark.net. Firestream.net will not have any band forums anymore, so they can concentrate on the general music forums and all the other great things they have there. Many of the band-forums which had been at firestream.net can now be found at unDark.net. So you should all go there, signup and post in the Mortification Forum.

No Mortification Tour in November
Some good news: New "Scrolls of the Megilloth" t-shirts should be available before the end of the month.

Mortification Tour in Central, Latin and South America
I can now announce that we will tour in Central, Latin and South America in November - 90% definite at this stage. This tour is being organised by our managment and we only have 16 days, so if we miss your area I am sorry. This is the best and most that we can do right now.
Supposed countries and dates:
Sat. Nov. 18 - Mexico City, Mexico
Sun. Nov. 19 - Guatemala City, Guatemala
Wed. Nov. 22 - Tegucigalpa, Honduras
Sat. Nov. 25 - Sao Paulo, Brazil
Sun. Nov. 26 - Buenos Aires, Argentina
Fri. Dec. 1 - Bogota, Colombia
Sat. Dec. 2 - San Jose, Costa Rica
All shows are with Narnia, Rob Rock and Exousia.
I am busy training for The National Transplant Games (Sept. 22) in seated throwing. I am, of course, partial paraplegic. Thus, I had better get back to the gym and my discus and shot put training. All this training is making me play bass like an animal! But, then again, I am not a drummer, so not really Animal!!!
Blessings,
Steve Rowe.

Mortification Forum got hacked
Also all the content of the official Mortification forum which was part of firestream.net, isn't there anymore.
As a consequense of this firestream.net will no longer host band forums, so there won't be a new mortification forum at firestream.net.
I really hope we all will soon find another great place for all Mortification fans to share their thoughts about the most recent things. You'll at least keep updated about more informations in the next days.

The release of the MCM version and the new T-shirt
As you can see, the MCM Music version of Erasing The Goblin is now available from the store, along with full-color Erasing... t-shirts and the DVD re-issue of Live Planetarium. One of the best things about this DVD re-issue is the extensive bonus footage, including some crazy scenes during the recording of Post Momentary Affliction (look out for a pre-Mort Keith Bannister); also footage from Cornerstone '93, the band with Phil on drums in Germany in '94 and myself generally being crazy at my old rental home. Big kids never grow up!
We will perform 2 shows in Perth, Western Australia, this month (Aug. 11th and 12th). Check local guides for details. Thanks to Vaughan Gregory for promoting the Perth shows for us. Check out Vaughan's band Grave Forsaken - they are a great new Christian death metal band.
On a not so happy note, please, please do not buy Mortification or Lightforce bootlegs. This type of theft is an ugly, heartless practice, especially considering that people are already making money from liquidated Mort albums from the fallen Diamante Music scam. The situation there is so immoral I cannot even begin to tell. It's not the fault of people who benefited from getting that stock cheaply, but it almost killed me financially. You, our true supporters, need to realise that bootlegging and downloading of our music is KILLLING this ministry. We cannot stay financially afloat with this criminal activity still happening in "Christian" music. We all have families to care for and bills to pay. God cannot stand in the way of man's greed, evil practice and immoral choices. Although God still provides for us by His miracle provision, after what my family and I have been through the past 10 years, this problem is becoming increasingly stressful. If you want Mort to survive, please help stop this criminal activity by purchasing official releases.
In All Good Faith,
Steve Rowe.

This month sees the official release of the MCM version of "Erasing the Goblin": early July for the US @ Cornerstone Festival (through RadRockers), July 28th for the rest of the world. Copies will be available from the Soundmass.com website August 1st. The modified front cover and new layout look awesome! Also set for release August 1st is a Special DVD Edition of "Live Planetarium", with extensive bonus footage. We will also have "Erasing..." t-shirts and girls tops available from the same date. It would be great if you could support the band by purchasing these items from this site through the Soundmass.com store.
There is one favour I would like to ask of all Mortification supporters. As you are well aware, many sites are making our music free to download. This is stealing and I please ask that you all buy legitimate copies of our music. We are looking at providing our music to buy online but need to check posibilities with credible people. Please note that the site mp3sugar.com is a total scam - they are selling our music! Please could HUNDREDS of you email them and ask them to stop destroying music and demand that they stop making illegal money from Mortification. We want our CDs off their site! Please remind them that what they are doing makes them international criminals.
We hope to see all you Aussies at the first shows of this tour. Unfortunatly, due to Damien's work commitments, we cannot play Black Stump. We plan to be there next year. Touring plans include Central, Latin and South America in November, an all ages show in Melbourne in January and AGMF in Toowoomba, Australia, at Easter next year.
Thanks for your support and blessings,
Steve Rowe.

What this means is that there are less than 50 copies remaining of this rare issue of the album. Of course, it is coming out mid-year with a different cover and layout but your chance to secure the Rowe release is almost up if you have not already purchased it. I expect the last few to sell within the next month.
Once again, thank you to all the people involved in the auction. This will help tremendously with recouping the costs of this release. Also, thank you to the various magazines and online forums that have given "Erasing The Goblin" such a positive review.

New Online-Shop
Keep in mind that this is a new & used shop... so you can get all available new items and also some used. For the used items a certain amount is directly given to Steve Rowe, so there is not the problem that you do not support Mortification if you buy a used item.
Have fun while shopping.

Limited Edition of 'Erasing the Goblin'
Firstly, thank you for your patience in waiting for news on what I see as a landmark release for us, "Erasing the Goblin". We have had to hold the album for some weeks as we have finally secured a release through MCM Music in Germany who will now also be managing us. MCM is now releasing CDs in both the Christian and mainstrem markets with Narnia, Veni Domine and now Mortification.
Thanks to the understanding of MCM Music we will be releasing a Limited Edition of "Erasing the Goblin" with the cover art pictured here. MCM Music will release "Erasing the Goblin" mid-year with different cover art and CD layout.
The Limited Edition of 500 numbered copies on Rowe Productions will be available by the end of the month. Pre-orders available now! Please note the following important information: the Rowe Productions release is ONLY available retail through the Soundmass.com store. You will not be able to purchase this limited version from any other store or site in the world. It is strictly a Rowe Productions retail-only product and there will only be 500 of this version available. Each copy will be individually numbered "1 of 500", etc. and signed by each member of the band, so place your pre-orders early to secure your copy of what will become a rare item. This release has been allowed by MCM Music to help us recoup the costs of putting the album together.
There is also a special auction for "1 of 500", "7 of 500", "77 of 500" and "500 of 500", so if you wish to bid for one of these numbers, send your details to info@roweproductions.com along with your bid price. We will announce each month who is ahead in the bids for these 4 CDs and the highest bids will recieve the item after the November 2006 tally in time for Christmas.
Thank you for your ongoing prayers and financial support of this ministry. We ask that people please purchase their own copies of the CDs and please support both the Rowe Productions and MCM Music releases. Help get the important message of the Gospel back out in the mainstream stores once again later this year.
Please note that both versions will have 10 songs. The Rowe Productions version will feature the studio remake of "Dead Man Walking" and the MCM Music version will feature new song "Servants of the Supreme Message" (which will not be on the Rowe Productions release) - more reason to support both releases.
Blessings
Steve Rowe

Finished Mixing and Mastering of 'Erasing The Goblin'
"Erasing The Goblin" has been mixed and mastered. Currently work is underway on the artwork layout. Small delays have put the album back a little but we are pushing hard for a late March release. "Erasing The Goblin" is a monster Death Metal oriented album, one that will be enjoyed by fans both old and new.
Thank you for your prayers and support.

New Release Date for 'Erasing The Goblin'
I rang Mick from Melbourne at 5:00pm Sunday 22nd when I heard his area was being threatened. We agreed on the phone that the devil was not going to burn his house or our new album. He had copies of mixes in the car ready to leave if he had to. I could not believe the heat on Sunday. 46 degrees C, which must be about 115 F I think.
We have had 2 cooler days and the fires are moving away into the bush. More heat is expected later in the week so Mick and his family are still on alert. "Erasing The Goblin" will thus now be delayed until March for release. Please keep us in your prayers. The devil has tried everything to stop this release.
There will be more updates soon.

Overview 2005
Steve and Mick had to regroup and basically start again with drummer Damien Percy. In the end, spending the whole year putting the album together has helped the boys redo the songs and even write some better ones! "Erasing The Goblin" should be available in late February. Expect a Death Metal oriented release with some brutal riffing. There are Thrash and Power Metal influences but "Erasing The Goblin" is a heavier and stronger release than anything in the past ten years.
Thank you to all the fans involved in the Mortification fundraiser to help with the recordings of "Erasing The Goblin". Your support has made this project possible. This are the true fans that help like this that keeps the life saving blood in the Mortification veins.
The classic "Grind Planets" video has been re-issued on DVD by Soundmass and is now available. "Grind Planets" contains heaps of professional clips from the classic '91/'92 Self-Titled and "Scrolls Of The Megilloth" era, lots of on tour craziness and a bonus '92 live club show from the infamous Arthouse Hotel here in Melbourne, Australia.
Please keep Mortification in your prayers concerning future shows and Steve's ongoing health concerns. The band are looking strongly at new mainstream deals in Europe and the US before any tour plans are made.

Steve Rowe about this video: "In 1991 and 1992, Mortification was creating ground-breaking music. Following a suddenly acquired interest in British grindcore and death metal, my original goal, to create an extreme version of my 80s band, Lightforce, became a reality. We were creating what was at the time, the most extreme Christian metal ever recorded, with Scrolls of the Megilloth as the band's definitive album. This DVD contains 8 professionally produced film clips of songs featured on Scrolls of the Megilloth and the self-titled Mortification album. Ideas musically and visually ahead of their time are brought to life by film maker Neil Johnson. The disc also contains a segment on the recording of Scrolls of the Megilloth, some crazy on-tour footage and a bonus full live show of the band at The Arthouse in Melbourne, Australia, in 1992."

Pre-Production of 'Erasing The Goblin' & New Drummer
Drummer Damien Percy is working with Steve and Mick on the album and the following tour. Due to the revolving door of members coming through the group, Steve will discuss with Damien the possibility of a permanent position in Mortification in early 2007. Until then, Damien is keen to be working with the band and he is looking forward to contributing to a killer new album and tour.
In 2006, Mortification plans to play the Australian Gospel Music Festival in Toowoomba (Australia) at Easter, Melbourne (Australia) in May, Adelaide (Australia) in June, South America in August and the Black Stump Festival near Sydney (Australia) in October. "Erasing The Goblin" will be available early next year.

Mike Forsberg will make a project with ex-Mortification guitarist Mick Carlisle who left Mortification already in 1994. Mick and Mike already played together previously in Cybergrind.
