What makes this CD special is its rarity. I heard that there are just 200-300 copies made of this. But actually this CD doesn't offer something groundbreaking. The Tourniquet songs are all from the Vanishing Lessons release and the Mortification Songs are all from the Blood World release, so the cover shows one half of each cover. Additional to the songs (three by each band) there is some interview stuff from Ted Kirkpatrick (founder of Tourniquet) and from Steve Rowe (founder of Mortification). The interview with Ted Kirkpatrick is splitted in five different parts but the interview with Steve Rowe is just recorded as one song. The interview with Ted Kirkpatrick are somehow special because they can't be found anywhere else but the interview with Steve Rowe is just an excerpt of the Live Planetarium video.
At the time of the release of this CD the two bands had been on the same label: Intense Records. There also had been (and still are) some relations between Steve Rowe and Ted Kirkpatrick so the most important things for a split-CD were given. But actually this CD was mainly dedicated for radio stations but of course also for some crazy collectors ;).
If you are not a cracy collector you should better get the two albums Vanishing Lessons and Blood World seperately, so you get two different albums with more songs for a cheaper price.
BTW: I got this CD directly from Ted Kirkpatrick because I won a small quiz and this was the price. :)
