Steve and Mortification's "comeback" album. The previous year, Steve had been stricken with cancer, and through a miracle of God, survived and even managed to release another disc! While most people would have probably retired or taken years to get back to music, Steve showed the strength of God's power by bouncing right back with an aggressive release. "Triumph Of Mercy" sees the band bringing back a lot of the death metal influence (blast-beats, grind vocals) and mixing it with the power metal feel of "Envision Evangelene". Although an admirable effort, the songs really don't hold up as well as previous albums and the production is horrid (once again especially the drum sound). Maybe one day this disc will get the remix/remaster treatment, which would make it a lot more listenable.

A miracel comeback for Steve after he has nearly been killed by cancer! Triumph of Mercy is mainly written about his hard times through his desise, and of cause how God has healed him, which gives the album a strong feel of victory through it. The music is very polish and tight, combining power and thrash metal with a bit of death metal as well.
