This album gets a 4/5 in my books

An awesome release by the metal masters, I listen to this album for Apocalyptic Terror alone, but it must be known that Apocalyptic Terror is not the only good track on this stellar record. If you like anything death metal, thrashy or old school then this album is a must get..

Yet another stellar release from Mortification. "Relentless" is a combination of every style the band has explored over the years, even bringing back the grind vocal style here & there. A very diverse release, from the power metal of "God Shape Void" to the all-out death metal of "Apocalyptic Terror" to the doom metal of "Sorrow". Another great production sound as well. One of Mort's best efforts in my opinion.

I remember when I got this album.
I remember being 13 years old and just beginning to get into death metal. All I know is that I loved that stuff. The year was 2003, so this album had already been out for a year.
I remember, My dad was taking me and my sister for the weekend. then he takes us to a christian book store. We went there to buy some stuff and then I saw living sacrifice there, I had no idea that they were a christian band. Then relentless was on the shelf, and my dad grabbed it, and said this band is super heavy and they are styled like those types of bands you listen to. I was thinking awsome. they had cd players there, and you could open the cd to make sure you like it, before you buy it, so I listened to it. to be honest when I heard, "web of fire", I was a little disappointed. cause I was expecting death metal. I was like "what?" So then, I listened to other tracks. Still no death metal.
So I told my dad that there was no death metal or growling, so then he said"I guess they don't do it anymore." But I got the cd anyway, and listened to it in my walkmen. After a few days of listening to it, It really grew on me. So Later I went to Kazza Light, and downloaded some older songs "satans doom" "Brutal warfare" and "nocturnal"
I was amazed and loved the older stuff. I was thinking "it such a shame that they, stopped the death metal.
But today that is the opposite of how I feel.
Its a good thing they wanted to explore other stuff. But I will always have their death metal stuff as my favorate.
Th is album is power metal. with a little thrash.
"Web of fire" is an awsome track and reminds me of creeping death by metallica. "God shaped void" is another good one. This is the perfect definition of Power metal. "Priests of the Underground" Is, a good one, Speaking out against satanic bands, and saying Motification is better than them.
One of my favorite tracks is "bring release" I think thats the title, But thats a real cool song and I headbang to it everytime I listen.
through the album mortification plays Power metal, and a doom song called "sorrow".
Another song is about 9/11.
Then at the end of the album, Mortification proves that they can still pull off a death metal song.
"Apocalyptic terror" Totally heavy and fast. I learned the words to this song.
All in all Mortification has made a fine album.
I will always like this one. Hey, its my first one. Its a good record.

Mortification still plays their power/thrash metal, but this time, it's simply more aggressive yet melodic! It's a step in a more brutal direction for the band.
